Human Rights Day
Human Rights Day was officially declared a public holiday in South Africa in 1994 following the inauguration of former president Nelson Mandela, a celebration of South Africa’s unique constitution which gives equal rights to all.
With the belief that Human Rights Day should be celebrated all year round, the local team were treated to some delicious doughnuts as a symbol of all round celebration. The funds raised from the sale of the doughnuts were donated to Kiva and Ethelbert Child and Youth Centre which is a place of safety for children who have been removed from their parents because of sexual and/ physical abuse and neglect and those orphaned because of HIV/AIDS.
Every child should have the right to be loved, it’s a basic Human Right for all.
