9th Solar Learning Lab launched in South Africa
24 June 2016 marked the launch of Dell’s 9th solar learning lab in South Africa at Waverly Girls High, in partnership with the Sci Bono Discovery Centre. The labs are constructed from standard shipping containers are harness the energy of the sun through the solar panels which line the roof.
GenNext drives coaching to Sci Bono students
GenNext is an Employee Resource Group whose mandate is to empower young professionals within and outside of Dell. The team identified a need to coach and mentor the students on the Youth Development Program at the Sci Bono Discovery Centre, a Powering the Possible partner, to better equip them for the corporate environment.
Visit from Nicky Sheridan, CEO Christel House South Africa
Dell prepared for Youth Day with a special visit from Nicky Sheridan, CEO of Christel House South Africa (CHSA) along with 4 students, who shared their stories on how Dell’s investments into CHSA have made an impact in their lives. Nicky also shared some insights into their new giving initiatives that employees can get involved in.
Dell employees pay-it-forward in Diepsloot
Dell’s employees have always harbored a volunteering spirit and share a passion for helping to uplift the communities that we call home. Through the help of the Diepsloot Preschool’s Project, the team gathered at Little Lambs preschool to paint.
Tekkie Tax Day
Tekkie Tax Day is a national fundraising campaign for many welfare organisations. This year Dell supported the Disability Sector which comprises of beneficiaries such as the Special Olympics SA, Epilepsy SA and Cheshire Homes SA.
